The bath was so relaxing that I slept easily afterward. It was lovely to experience traditional Japanese style, and the food felt home-cooked, so good and welcoming.

The staff were incredible and did everything they could to make our stay great, even though they speak very little English. The food was delicious and the onsen was great, though one bath is much hotter than the other. It’s about a five-minute walk to the station, but whenever we went out they offered to drive us there. Brush up on your Japanese or bring someone who speaks it. Maybe Google Translate would work?

The kaiseki was outstanding. Every day we got a different breakfast and dinner, and the onsen deserves a mention too. It’s recently renovated, smells wonderfully of wood, and bathing outside in the snow was incredible. The ryokan has also been beautifully renovated since our last visit, while still feeling authentic and not touristy. This was our second stay, and it’s our favorite in Aomori. The staff remembered us from two years ago, and I recognized some of the ladies who helped us then. That says a lot. Their warm hospitality means so much to us. Everything was so good I wish I could rate the place 10 out of 5. We’ll definitely come back again. Thank you so much.
