The room was clean and had a traditional Japanese feel. The food was good and filling, though the servings were so large I could barely finish mine. I got to try the hot spring and the private bath, which didn’t have much of a queue, so I was able to use it. The Wi-Fi was weak, which cost it a point. Aside from that, it was what I wanted to try, and the stay was great.

The room and its view were incredible, the baths were magnificent, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast had some delicious dishes, especially the miso and many of the smaller items, but it could be better. A few dishes were cold by the time we sat down, and the fish was fairly dry. I was very satisfied with the stay! 😊

The Wi-Fi in our room was poor, so I’m taking off one star 😅. Everything else was great: the onsen, the food, and the location. It’s very close to Kamesho, a well-known sushi restaurant in Beppu, so staying here could help you secure a slot there. The staff were super kind and helpful. One gentleman showed us to our room and explained everything in detail, and I really do mean everything.

The hospitality was out of this world, and our room was incredible. My husband and I had our own onsen, and we added kaiseki dinner and breakfast. We loved the bath and enjoyed a private open-air soak after a very yummy dinner, then walked around the facility. There are two smaller indoor private onsens, one large private onsen, and separate public onsens for women and men. You can also play ping pong for a small fee. Vending machines sell milk, which I recommend after a hot spring soak, along with beer, sodas, and water. We highly recommend this ryokan!
