The thin walls let in a lot of noise, even in the middle of the night, and both breakfast and the amenities were poor. The staff and service were bad from check-in through check-out. When I asked for fresh towels, I was told I had to go to the front desk and pay for them. The staff showed little hospitality and treated customers like trash, especially foreigners. They didn’t bother explaining things like the parking situation in a friendly way. There are plenty of better hotels nearby. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The bed felt like a stone slab, and the pillows were like sandbags. Everything else about the hotel was excellent.

I was there for one night during the VNL period. The senior male staff member was impolite to hotel guests, with no help, no thanks and no smile. It was the worst hotel service I’ve had in Japan. This also wasn’t my first time staying at a Toyoko Inn.

It’s good value, with free breakfast, and close to both Chiba-minato station and a 24/7 grocery store and convenience store. The room is small but cozy, and quiet despite the nearby station. The AC works well, and there’s a USB A port by the bed. A few things weren’t so comfortable. The bath tissue is really hard, and the mattress felt a bit firm to me, though manageable. The walls are thin too, so you might hear the neighbors laughing or sneezing, LOL.

The room was clean and the service was good, and the hotel’s in a convenient spot like most Toyoko Inn branches, just across one street from Chiba Minato Station. My main disappointment was breakfast. I’m used to having more variety, and there weren’t as many options here as I’d like.
