Hotel Route-Inn Yamanashi Chuo

For the price, this was the best hotel I've stayed at. We had a twin room with plenty of space and a useful little sofa. The beds were firm but really comfortable, and the room was clean. Breakfast was a nice Japanese-style one, with a convenience store and restaurants close by. The gym and golf simulator across the road are due to open from December. Highly recommended!

The staff are warm and friendly, and the whole stay felt pleasant and homey. The room was simple, comfortable, and clean. The bed and pillows were a little hard, but that's how I like them. There was a good choice at the breakfast buffet, and the restaurant prices were reasonable. I'd stay here again.

The laundry was painfully slow. Wash and dry took more than two hours and my clothes were still damp, so I had to run the dryer for another 30 minutes. When I asked about dry cleaning, staff only pointed me to the coin laundry in the lobby, even though I saw laundry bags left on the doors of several rooms nearby. The room had been cleaned before check-in, but the bin still contained bloody tissues and tampons. The bed was so hard that I slept better on the floor the night before, and the pillow felt like it was stuffed with gravel.

It costs more than some other local hotels, but I think that price is justified. You can pick either a smoking or non-smoking room, and the rooms have what you need, including air conditioning and a bathtub.
