Such a beautiful stay.

The house was a relaxed, lovely place to stay, and the view across the town and lake was hard to beat. We got lucky in May 2026 when Fuji came out from behind the clouds. The bedrooms are split between upstairs and downstairs, with a big living area, balcony and fully equipped kitchen. There’s also a large spa and sauna, great for easing aches after a drive or hike. The town is close by for groceries, restaurants and Izakaya, or you can cook at home. Getting there and checking in were easy. The instructions were accurate, pre-check-in went smoothly, and the team communicated well and shared helpful tips. Check-out was just as simple. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

When I filled the outdoor bath with hot water and put my hand in, I got a strong electric shock. Touching the switch shocked me too, so it seems there may have been an electrical leak. Covers on the tubes behind the bath had come off, leaving them exposed, and they may have been corroded. My heart is starting to hurt, so I plan to go to the hospital when I get back to Tokyo.

I liked the bright room for relaxing, and breakfast while looking out at the lake felt luxurious. The walkable location and view were great, and I’d use the facility again. Still, there are a few things that could be improved. The garden plants detract from the view, and getting to the sauna feels like a bit of a survival challenge. The second-floor bedroom also gets hot, so a fan would be welcome. I noticed a smell from the sofa, dust on the screen door and a sticky table, though I’m not sure if that’s unavoidable at this time of year. It was my first visit, and I’d recommend the place for its pleasant view, but some upkeep would help.
