Fujisan Station Hotel

MtFuji makes for great photos from this spot, and Fujisan Station is only a short walk away. For the price, it’s an excellent budget-friendly base for exploring the Fuji area. I loved the convenience and definitely recommend staying here.

Breakfast was a nice touch, with plenty of options, and the free shuttle bus was good. The hotel is in a handy spot, about a 4 minute downhill walk from the bus and train station, and it’s great for MtFuji photos. But our room for four adults was so small that with four suitcases, I had to sleep with one on my bed.

The breakfast buffet was very limited, just a few dishes. It’s okay for a simple daily breakfast, but vegetarians won’t find much beyond cereal, bread, salad, and scrambled eggs. TV choices are limited too, and all the channels are Japanese. Some rooms look out toward Mount Fuji and Fuji-Q. The room was relatively clean but quite old, with a small toilet. Its door is manual lock and looks like a cupboard or wardrobe door. There’s only one switch for the light by the door and above the bed, so it’s either all on or all off. They provide toiletries, but only bath and face towels, no hand towel. The coin laundry has just two washers and two dryers. The location is pretty good, within walking distance of Fujisan station. There’s also a free shuttle bus tour to Fuji-Q and other areas.

My child left her phone in the hotel’s common toilet when we checked in during the afternoon of 29 Nov. More than four hours later, we still got it back because the staff had kept it safe. They’re friendly and honest, and I really appreciate their integrity and help.
