Alfacio Riverside Stay Hakata

I was happy with this booking. The area is central but quiet, with a 7-11 about two minutes away on foot and a large shopping mall five minutes away. Hakata station is around a 20-minute walk. I'd stay here again if I return to Hakata. I was traveling alone and had a room that felt a good size for one or two people. Before booking, I worried about check-in because of other reviews, but it went smoothly. The entry passcode arrived two days ahead, and the address was easy to find. You need to check in before moving in; on arrival, I scanned the barcode they sent using the lobby iPad, then got my room number and room password there. It wasn't complicated. The room was clean aside from one bit of rubbish left on the floor by accident. I stayed ten days and found the vacuum easy to use. There were two air conditioners, a reasonably comfortable double bed, and plugs in handy places. The balcony looked out over the river. A washing machine and detergent were provided, along with four hangers for drying clothes outside. My laundry dried in one night. The shower temperature stayed steady, and towels and toothbrushes were supplied. I only wish the hairdryer were more powerful. There was a full-length mirror and a second mirror over the sink with good lighting for makeup. A fridge and microwave made simple meals easy. I didn't use the stove, so can't comment on it. The kitchen had basic cutlery, but I couldn't find plates or bowls. There isn't staff in the building, but there are iPads in the room and lobby for contacting them. They can bring extra bin bags the next day if you ask.

We picked this place for the river location and the large rooms, and enjoyed the river views in the morning and evening. It's an apartment building where each apartment is a hotel room. The room was comfortable and well equipped, especially the couch, table, and TV area. It was clean, though there was a strange sewer smell in the bath area. We appreciated the folder with useful details and emergency information, including a route to a safe place. During our stay there was an earthquake alert on our phones. Staff messaged to check that we were okay. We didn't feel anything, so I guess the building is pretty safe. Check-in and getting into the building and room caused us no trouble. A couple of things were less practical. The wardrobe had only three or four hangers and one shelf, which didn't feel like enough for two people. The washing machine has no drying setting, so laundry has to go on the rack inside the room. It needs at least 12-16 hours to dry, so don't leave it until your last evening.

The room faced the river and had a kitchen and washing machine, which was handy. We stayed five nights and were very satisfied. It was convenient, and there was enough room for four people.

Really clean, and honestly the best accommodation.
