Family Lodge Hatagoya Fukuroi

This was my second time staying at a Hatagoya inn. It’s conveniently close to National Route 1, and I found the accommodation satisfactory. The main drawback is getting around without a car. There aren’t any convenience stores within walking distance, and you need a car to reach restaurants. There are no vending machines either, so buy drinks in advance or make a trip to a convenience store.

We were four in the family, including small children, and the room had plenty of space. It was also nice to have the bathroom separate from the toilet. Slippers and toothbrushes apparently cost extra. Breakfast was simple, with a few kinds of bread, coffee, and orange juice. That’s fine if you just want something light. The staff were very polite and helpful. For anyone driving, the hotel is near a main road with restaurants, convenience stores, drugstores, and other places around; the nearest 7-Eleven is about a six-minute walk away.

There’s nowhere to eat dinner within walking distance, so it may be best to have a meal before arriving. The parking lot was easy to use, and our room was clean with no cigarette smell. Our family of five slept comfortably after an extra bed was provided. Breakfast is self-service from 7am, with different breads and orange juice. I toasted a croissant and had it with coffee, which I enjoyed. The bread setup is very good, though it gets busy with guests heading out early. That’s to be expected. A perfect place to stay for a trip.

I drive a lot when I travel, and this is one of the places I often use. Check-in is easy even late at night, and the rates are affordable. There’s no dinner, so you need to sort that out yourself, but looking around for local specialties is part of the fun. The room is like a studio apartment with two large beds and a separate bath and toilet. It’s enough for a good night’s sleep. For breakfast there are light snacks like bread, plus complimentary coffee that I really enjoy. A toaster oven, microwave, and hot water are available too, which is more than enough for me. People may have different priorities between travel and lodging, but I like this place and would like to visit its other locations as I travel. I’ll be back, thanks very much. m(__)m
