The staff were friendly and spoke several languages, and the Japanese breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully made. It’s a convenient base, a short walk from the bus stop, with nature walks, hot springs and Hakone’s main sights within easy reach, including the pirate ship cruise and ropeway. My room had traditional tatami mats and shoji doors, plus a private toilet. I loved catching a glimpse of Mt. Fuji at sunrise through the screens. The onsen was clean and intimate, with mountain views, and a lovely way to unwind after exploring. The cozy ryokan-style hotel felt peaceful, tucked into the misty mountains of Sengokuhara.
