The room was clean and the bedding comfortable. Their five-course dinner was delicious, and breakfast came with homemade bread. Highly recommend both to everyone.

The rooms are simple and small, but just right for a snowy ski break. The owners are incredibly warm and kind, and the multi-course meals they serve were five-star.

It was my first homestay, and I enjoyed it. The friendly family helped with everything I needed, and having a sauna and onsen in the basement made it a great place to unwind. The downside for me was the toilet smell. I have a weak stomach and couldn't handle it, which concerned me in a house. Aside from that, it was good.

The owner was really nice and made for a great stay. When I was leaving, he drove me and even friends who weren't staying at the hotel to the bus stop. I'd also left my gloves behind, and he drove me back to get them. There's a shared bathroom, but you lock it while using it, so it becomes private.

Breakfast is provided, and the facilities are good for the price. Pension ChauChau sits at the base of Hakuba Goryu ski resort, a short walk from the resort and close to bars and restaurants.
