B&B MIKAWA 5 - Villas with BBQ Terrace

Such a cozy place, with attentive service the whole time. I could take my golden retriever for a walk in the snow, and I'm grateful they accepted my pet. I hope I can come back.

The food and atmosphere were great. Mikawa is one of the best towns in Japan!

We were glad to find a reasonably priced, clean, newly built place that could fit all four of us in one room. The parking is right beside the inn, which made things easy. Our family loved the chewy round bread, and the room had water, juice, and frozen bread for breakfast, so we could pick up salad and yogurt at a convenience store and eat in. There's also a wood-burning stove in the room in winter for an extra fee, and I'd like to try it on a future stay. The buildings join together like row houses, so we could hear footsteps, other noises, and children's voices from next door. That's why I took off a star. Most guests seem to have children, though, so I think it's fine as long as people keep the noise down late at night. Watch out for the steep stairs. On our stay, the Mikawa Okaeri Festival was on, so we had food from a stall for dinner. There didn't seem to be many restaurants nearby, so eating in Kanazawa City might be an option. We tried the recommended Anzan-no-Yu bath. It's a traditional public bath, and the hot spring water left our skin feeling silky. It's a bit of a walk, but on the way back we came across a candy shop the kids loved.

I needed two rooms for five nights while surveying a work site in Ishikawa. Even with short notice, they accommodated what I asked for and considered the site's distance and what would be practical for a longer stay when choosing the rooms. They also quickly handled a change to the number of people in one room, which helped a lot. The rooms were stylish and relaxing, with big beds. Each had a microwave, toaster, washing machine, and breakfast bread, so it felt well worth the price. The person who helped me, maybe the owner, was kind, calm, and very attentive. I'd gladly recommend the inn to anyone in the area. Next time I'd like to bring my children and staff and stay in a room with a wood deck for a BBQ.
