Hotel Lake Land Hikone

I was traveling alone, and the room was clean. The unit bathroom was much bigger than at other business hotels, so I could take a relaxing bath. It’s right in front of the station, which is handy. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled nice. Women should bring their own lotion and moisturizer since those aren’t provided. If I had to pick one thing, breakfast would make the hotel even better.

The price wasn’t too high, and I thought the stay was pretty good. The bed felt better than at places like Route Inn, with firmer springs. My only gripe was the WiFi, which was sometimes unreliable and sometimes easy to connect to.

It’s a 2-star hotel, but I found it clean and comfortable, and the spot right in front of the station is convenient. I’d still rate it a little lower because the WiFi is weak in some rooms and cuts out a lot. The emergency light wasn’t working, apparently because its batteries had leaked, and it didn’t seem to have been inspected. I also noticed a slight smell from the bathroom plumbing, so I ran hot water down the drain. Even with those issues, I think it’s better than other hotels.

The room was surprisingly spacious for the price, especially compared with the many hotels I’ve stayed in. Even the bathroom was large and comfortable, which was a nice change from places where the room is big but the bathroom is tiny. The water is delicious too, apparently drawn from a well. I checked in yesterday and left today. Minami-Hikone Station is very close, and it’s a great hotel. I’d stay here again if I come back to Hikone, and I highly recommend it.
