J-Hoppers Hiroshima Guesthouse - Hostel

Getting around was easy from here, with public transport nearby, including the tram to the ferry terminal for Miyajima just a block or two away. The hostel is also close to major attractions and historic sites, plus grocery stores and restaurants. I stayed in a private room with tatami floors and a futon, which was a lot of fun. The kitchen was well equipped. This is the best hostel I've stayed at in Japan, and I'd highly recommend it.

The staff were friendly and spoke English, and the showers got nice and hot. My room was clean and pleasant, and the place had a cozy, warm feeling with what I needed to stay comfortable. Loved it here!

The location is the one good thing I can say about it. I've stayed in around 30 hostels, and this was probably the worst. The rooms are small, so suitcases have to go in a separate room downstairs. The mattress is extremely thin and feels like sleeping on a wooden floor, which made it very hard to get a good night's sleep. I'd recommend staying somewhere else unless saving money is the main goal.

The hostel is well located near the city centre and tram lines, and the beds were especially good: clean, odor-free, and built with enough room for taller people, even over 6 feet. There is space for backpacks or duffles, while trolleys go in a storeroom. Check-in service could be better with longer hours. 10/10.
