Vessel Inn Hiroshima Station

They had my mail waiting at the front desk, my printed Shinkansen ticket back to Tokyo, which was a huge relief since I hadn't even asked for it. On arrival, I was told I could have free soft drinks and hot beverages, plus some nice cakes in the dining area. The room was small but clean and comfortable, and good value for the price. The hotel is under a ten-minute walk from Hiroshima JR and Shinkansen station, a few minutes from the tram stop for Peace Park, and about five minutes from the nearest combini.

Rooms are tiny, but modern, spotless, and the hotel itself is very clean. The staff are nice. They offer free drinks and a light meal in a small dining room, plus lots of free amenities such as slippers, pyjamas, shower gels, and towels. It's a short walk to the main train station and tram stops. There's a supermarket across the street, with a restaurant and bakery nearby.

The room was clean, with a nice en suite and cold AC. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the paid breakfast was good. Hiroshima station is just a short walk away. WiFi was good, and the bike rental was great, especially since using a bike for less than three hours is free. The bikes are on the small side. Would recommend.

At 6000 yen for a night, the price felt typical for this kind of hotel. It's very new and clean, with free all-you-can-drink soft drinks until 9pm. The rooms are really small. There's a strange window latch, easy to open but impossible to close unless staff explain how it works. There are no stairs, so you have to take the elevator, which gets packed at rush hour and can leave you waiting five minutes. Rooms have a flat screen and ethernet and HDMI plugs.
