Our cat was welcome from the moment we arrived, and every person at the front desk was so warm and lovely. The room had a fun mix of modern style and traditional Japanese touches, plus cute sailor-themed decor and a little balcony over the ocean. Even the bathroom had a sea-facing window by the tub. The larger bath downstairs had a nice hot-spring feel, too. Everything was spotless and there was no pet smell at all, so you’d never guess animals were allowed. I really appreciated that they let us bring our cat. The beach is right nearby. It’s pretty, even if it doesn’t have Okinawa’s white sand, and we caught a lovely sunset behind the mountains. From the balcony you can watch people on the beach and see the industrial area in the distance. The friendly front desk guy recommended Janome, which is a really cool restaurant.

We had a great one-night stay with our toddler. The inn is older, though parts have been updated, and the mix of retro character and modern comfort worked really well. Our room was clean, the futons were soft and fluffy, and we all slept soundly. The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and both meals were delicious with generous portions. The ocean view from our room was lovely, but relaxing in the public bath with the same view was especially nice. We’d definitely come back. Highly recommend it.

The only real plus was being near the ocean, with a nice view. The room itself had sand on the futon and cockroaches, and the TV wouldn’t turn on. The circuit breaker also tripped. There were around 20 spiders outside the room. The bathroom in the dining room had a really pungent smell. Getting around was hard too: there were only stairs, the steps were high, and they were narrow enough that we couldn’t walk up two abreast. I was already tired, so climbing them was difficult.

Our dog was thrilled to walk along the shore, since you can head straight from the hotel to the beach. The staff were very helpful, and we had a really pleasant stay. The renovated room was clean and comfortable, with an ocean view, and we appreciated that there weren’t strict rules for bringing our dog. We stayed one night and had breakfast included. Next time I think we’ll try a dinner plan. I’d love to come back.
