10/10
The rooms are simple, cozy, and clean, and the service was great. We found this peaceful spot in the mountains by chance, and a one-night stay turned into three. With nature all around, it’s wonderfully quiet. The lobby and bar have a lovely feel, with jazz playing on vinyl.

We picked the Western-style breakfast and it was generous and tasty. Dinner at the adjoining restaurant was great too, especially getting to try koshu beef and local wines. Our Japanese-style room was comfortable, and the collaged shoji gave it a distinctive look. The two baths were relaxing, and we enjoyed the bar’s music with a whiskey, though the cigar selection was tempting too. Everyone was so friendly. We loved the overnight stay and would come back.

A welcoming, cozy place in Kobuchisawa and good value, though it’s not as elegant or posh as the hotel next door. Admission to the Keith Haring museum is included, too.

A homey bed and breakfast that deserves more attention. The facilities are great, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
