Hotel Ichihara Club Anesaki

The Western-style room was clean and nice, with a toilet and shower, and getting to the station was easy. The food was terrible, though not because of the taste. Even early in the day, the buffet was often empty, and they didn't bring out more until we asked. We often couldn't eat at all. That's unacceptable for a plan that included two meals.

This is company-designated accommodation, and I hate staying in the old building. The new building would have been fine, but the first day pushed my dissatisfaction to the limit. You can hear snoring through from the next room, conversations in the hallway, and doors opening and closing. The doors are wooden, so there's no soundproofing, and the old building's walls are thin too. The new building isn't as bad. There's Wi-Fi, but it gets hard to connect as the number of guests goes up. My first stay was especially bad: four years ago, it took three days. An older woman staffs the front desk, and the service feels like that of an older woman at a downtown diner. Don't expect professional service. The sheets are changed every eight days. If you want them changed at another time, there's a fee. The new building is fine, but if I get the old one, I'll look elsewhere. That's something to keep in mind when choosing.

I'm supposed to stay for several weeks starting today, but a cockroach nymph showed up in my room on day one. There was also someone else's leftover drink in a carton when I opened the refrigerator. I don't even want to touch it. They offered excuses about a sudden room change, but that's not my concern as a guest. The management is terrible. They said the bathroom had been renovated and was clean, but I no longer want to use it. This is my first time here. A place can be old or new and still feel safe if it's properly maintained. I can't relax or feel at ease here.

The service is terrible, and the rooms are cramped, smelly and dirty. The food wasn't tasty either, and the bathroom was small and dirty. I'd rather sleep outdoors than come back to a hotel like this. Never staying here again.
