Drive in Ichinomiya

It’s a bit rough and ready, but relaxed, and that’s the appeal. The setup and vibe are cool, with a nice outside deck and a decent menu of food and drinks. The owner and staff are friendly, and the service and value are good. If you’re driving or just don’t drink alcohol, ask for the non-alcohol lemon sour, non-sweet. It’s really refreshing in the hot summer and early autumn months. It’s not high end, but that isn’t the point, so I don’t know why anyone would give it just 1 or 2 stars. Maybe those neigh sayers were just having a bad day?

The food was really nice, and the steak came out on a sizzling plate. We even had a surprise visit at our table from a very friendly golden Labrador. We went on a quiet weekday evening in September, during the off season, and enjoyed the meal enough to want to return. The trendy restaurant is nicely de pirated with lots of memorabilia and a holiday vibe, and there’s a small car park to the side. The staff were very friendly. Recommended.

I spent 3 weeks here for my summer vacation and had an incredible time. Drive-In has what you need for a stay, including a restaurant, skate park, and surf suits and boards if you want to surf. There’s also a great, fully equipped gym guests can use. The staff are friendly and really add to the stay. It’s a gem in Japan for enjoying the beach outside of Tokyo, with the location right next to the beach. I happened to be there during a special cuisine offering, shown in the photos, and it was delicious. Absolutely recommend visiting!
