The BREAKFAST HOTEL MARCHE Ishigakijima

We were happy with the hotel overall. It was nice and clean, and the food was great, though the beds weren't comfortable. We chose it because the listing said parking was available, but there were only two spaces and we had to use a public lot instead. That was just a three-minute walk away, but still a hassle.

The location is convenient, near both the port and bus station, and the staff were friendly. The rooms vary, though the beds and size were okay. Noise was the real problem. Other guests talked in their rooms and in the hallway, and babies cried; I was woken every night. It's been mentioned in other reviews, and without soundproofing I don't see it changing. I wouldn't stay again, it's simply too noisy. The breakfast was enough to get started in the morning, but felt a little overpriced. There was also a bad smell in the elevator during our stay. On the fifth floor, five 50-inch TVs showed static pictures day and night. Using one picture screen seemed more eco-friendly to me, since all those TVs felt wasteful.

A five-minute walk gets you to the port for travel to the outer islands, and the shopping arcade is nearby.

We keep coming back to this hotel whenever we're in Ishigaki. The free bicycles for guests are a nice extra, and the view and breakfast buffet are great. For the price, the location near points of interest is hard to beat. One of the best hotels I've stayed in.
