Hotel Route Inn Ishioka

I stayed three nights while visiting friends in the area, and this bargain-priced business inn turned out much better than I expected. The lobby, reception, and shared spaces were neat and clean; I’d been bracing for a plain room or a run-down place. My simple room was a bit wider than usual and had a small sofa and table where I could work or eat. Even with my DND sign up, they left a fresh robe, towel, and toiletries by the door. A nice touch, thanks!

The workspace was a pleasant surprise: the table faced neither a wall nor a mirror, so it felt open. I was there on a business trip. The room was a little cramped, but clean and thoughtfully laid out. My coworkers said the onsen was spacious and open, though I didn’t get to visit it myself. The price was reasonable, and I’ll use this hotel again for future work trips.

The staff were very friendly and used those little translators you speak into. I’d absolutely recommend those in Japan. The room was typical for Japan, but comfortable, which is what matters most. Breakfast was okay, and I always like those Japanese toilets. When we first drove through town, it looked like we were in for a quiet week, since it didn’t seem like much. But nearby, if you find the right spots, the restaurants and bars are really quite good.
