For the price, this place was amazing. We paid about 6,000 yen for one night at the time, and the room was huge, with a comfortable mattress, a massage chair, and more amenities than a business hotel. Everything was clean. We stayed while surfing at Taito beach and watching the pros at the nearby Olympic beach. The older woman at the front desk who checked us in was so sweet and kind. From what others have said, it used to be a love hotel and was converted into a regular hotel. If we’re back in Chiba for another surf trip, we’ll definitely stay here again.

The owner and staff were really friendly. A great budget hotel, with a big room, a comfortable bed, and a strong shower.

The bathroom with its TV and jet bath was especially comfortable, and the room felt roomier and more pleasant than a business hotel. There’s a fridge and microwave in the room, too. The outside looks like a love hotel, but reception and the hallways are pretty ordinary, and the inside has hints of its former use without feeling vulgar. It sits somewhere between a business hotel and a small hotel. I was there for work this time, but would like to return for a sightseeing drive.

The only thing that really made the stay worthwhile was how beautiful the stars looked at night. The place was convenient and cheap after a day swimming at the beach, but I don’t want to return. I paid 7,000 yen, which is on the cheaper side, but I know a hotel where you can stay 24 hours for 6,000 yen, so this felt expensive. At checkout, I opened the door and found what looked like a centipede right outside, as if it was waiting there to say good morning. I was shocked. The towels looked fluffy and high quality, but were awkward to use. The hotel lighting was dim, too dark to put on makeup properly. I opened the window during the day to use the sunlight, even though it was right next to the house. The front desk experience and guest rooms felt completely mismatched, and the attention to detail seemed half-hearted. The person ahead of me had a long conversation at reception, so I waited. When I tried to check in, the first response was just, “Yes.” I expected an apology for the wait, since it’s a hotel. I understood the previous guest had also been waiting, so there wasn’t much to be done about that. I then had to say, “I’d like to stay here...” I’d watched the staff chat with the person ahead of me and explain things, so I expected the same, but I was only told how to fill out the reservation and what time checkout was. They may not have known it was my first visit, but it felt incredibly rude. The times posted beside the front desk also differed from the website. The website said check-in was at 5 PM and checkout at noon, while the posted times were 6 PM and 11 AM. They should put the hours outside the hotel too.

The simple breakfast costs 300 yen and was enough in both portion and content. The hotel mostly leaves you to yourself, which I liked. Check-in and checkout times are later than at other hotels, and of course you can come and go as you like since it isn’t a love hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable, likely because it used to be a love hotel. Everything is on one level, so hauling in lots of luggage is easy. Some rooms have a two-door fridge and others a one-door model. If you get one with a freezer, you can refreeze your cooler packs and keep drinks cold for the next day. There’s also an outdoor tap for filling a surfer’s plastic water bottles, though as of August 2025 it was broken and unusable.
