Oyashirazu Kanko Hotel

For $91 a night, this was a good deal, and dinner had plenty to eat with a nice mix of seafood. I skipped the crab meal, which was fine by me since crab takes so much work that it can get in the way of enjoying dinner. The place is right by the road, so it was easy to find in our rental car. I stayed here in 2015 and will be back next month.

The Japanese-style dinner was delicious, with a huge serving of fresh local seafood. The staff were very friendly, too. We stayed in a Japanese room without a private bathroom or toilet. A great place to stay if you love food, especially seafood.

The food was excellent and the sea view was epic. This hotel was once run by a late member of my family. I saw a ghost there once, and after that I believed!

The view was lovely, which was the one good thing about our one-night stop on a trip through Japan. The room had a serious insect problem: eight stink bugs were crawling around, with even more inside the lamps. They supplied spray, so the issue clearly wasn’t new, but nothing effective had been done to deal with it. We weren’t offered a discount or any compensation. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re comfortable sleeping in a room full of insects.
