Showa Minshuku Ryujinsou

The room's sunrise view was beautiful, and we could see loads of stars at night. The second-floor room felt cozy, with a comfortable futon and a kotatsu. The hosts and staff were kind, and the whole stay was relaxing. We had the easy crab course, and the crab was fresh and delicious. They showed us how male and female Matsuba crabs differ and how to eat them. We tried it raw, grilled, boiled, and in a hot pot. The sashimi and simmered fish were both delicious too. A couple of things to know: the bath can't be reheated, so in winter it's best to get in soon after it's filled. You might want to ask about that when booking. And if you like watching TV, the CRT set may disappoint, since you don't see those much these days. Thank you very much.

We got the affordable Matsuba crab course, which turned out to feel really luxurious. The crab sashimi, hot pot, and crab miso were all so fresh and tasty, and the kids were thrilled. The room and its view were fantastic too. There are two hot springs nearby, Nanagama Onsen and Iwai Onsen, and we visited both.

The owner and staff were polite and kind, and we enjoyed the Showa-era feel of the place as well as walking around the neighborhood. My spouse and I stayed one night with two meals, and came away with even better memories than we'd expected. There was plenty to eat, with lots of variety, and everything was delicious. The seafood was incredibly fresh. Dinner also included deep-fried rockfish, clear soup, and fruit later on, though those aren't in the photo.

Right by the sea, and I'd love to come back in summer. We had the crab set meal, and the crab sashimi was absolutely delicious. The owner was so personable, and the waitress's service felt genuinely warm. The owner chatted with us for two and a half hours while we drank, so we had a wonderful time.
