Super Hotel Joetsu Myoko-Eki Nishiguchi

Breakfast is served only until 8:30 on most days, and they don’t replenish food after it runs out. Many people arrive in the last half hour, when some of the better items, such as mackerel, are already gone. The only fresh vegetables were shredded carrot and daikon, so it didn’t feel like a healthy breakfast. The pastry was tasty, though. The parking situation was inconvenient and more expensive than the pictures suggest. It looked like there was a large lot right outside, but you have to park farther away for 1000 yen a day. A small discount is available to the first few people. I had to walk in the rain and carry my luggage up the stairs to get back to the car. They ran out of pillows, the welcome drink is available only until 9pm, and the bath was small and crowded even at 11pm.

Good value in a convenient location, though none of the staff speak English.

Clean and inexpensive.

I stayed in June 2026 after booking about two weeks ahead while looking for a hotel near Joetsu-Myoko Station. The west exit is incredibly close. At check-in, the young female staff member who helped me was excellent. That first interaction really reminded me how much the front desk impression can shape a stay. The information sheet says to use nearby paid parking. I chose lot ③ across the road, where you can drive in and out freely. I also liked the Welcome Bar. My room was clean and comfortable, with a convenient outlet layout and a new air conditioner. I used the hot spring on the second floor in the middle of the night. It’s small, with five washing areas and one bathtub, but having a hot spring was enough for me. The lockers had locks, and the hair dryers were easy to use and had strong airflow. The front desk was closed at that hour. Breakfast the next morning was free and had a basic, limited selection. The curry was quite delicious. The plates and other containers were made from recycled materials, which showed good environmental awareness. The breakfast staff were polite and friendly. The whole hotel was clean and well maintained, and I could tell they’d thought about helping guests feel comfortable. For this price and quality, I found it impeccable. If I get the chance to visit Joetsu City again, I’d definitely stay here.
