The dinner was packed with lobster, from sashimi and simmered dishes to teppanyaki, chawanmushi, salad, and onigirazu soup. The sashimi’s sweetness and rich flavor stood out, and everything else was delicious too. We stayed on a quiet weekday in January, so there weren’t many other guests and it was easy to unwind. The spacious hot spring baths felt silky, and even without an open-air bath, the view is just as good as from the rooms. I especially liked bathing in the morning. Our ocean-view special room was huge and comfortable, with a view from the loft across the tip of the Nasa Peninsula and the Pacific. The building is showing its age, but it’s very clean and comfortable. This was our second stay, in the same room and on the same course as last year, and we were just as satisfied.

The bath is a little on the lukewarm side, which made it easy to soak for a while, and my skin felt smooth afterward. The rooms are quiet and clean, and the ocean view is lovely. Tap water from the clear Kaifu River, as the sign says, tastes better to me than bottled water from the vending machines. You can choose your breakfast time at check-in, even though breakfast begins at 6:30. I’d recommend booking both meals, since the food makes good use of local ingredients. It seems like a relaxing place for anyone from solo travelers to families who enjoys local cooking.

The Awaodori chicken dishes were excellent, and we even got to watch the first sunrise of the year from our room. The ocean view was amazing. My only wish is that the Wi-Fi signal were stronger.

After finishing my visit to all 23 temples in Tokushima Prefecture, I celebrated with some locally made sake at dinner. The meal included seasonal local produce, fish, meat, sashimi, fried items, hot pot, and several side dishes. I hiked up to this hot spring inn on September 16, 2025. My third-floor room had a comfortable view over the wide bay. Later, I changed into a yukata and went to the natural hot spring bath on the second floor to relax and stretch out my muscles.

I’d been aiming for Cape Muroto, but couldn’t find a place to stay nearby, so I ended up at Japan's NASA. Lots of ryokans these days seem to just slice up the food and serve it, but the fresh fish and spiny lobster here completely won me over. Island style is nice, but tip style has its charm too ♪ 8❤️
