The room was tidy, and the staff were polite and friendly. Conveniently located near the JR and the beach.

A small, nice hotel about a 2-3 minute walk from Yuigahama station.

The inn has a charming feel, and the food was delicious enough to make me want to come back. It’s also in a great spot for sightseeing in Kamakura, around 10 minutes from Hasedera Temple and the Great Buddha Hall, with Yuigahama station and the beach nearby. The road right outside is narrow, though.

The aquarium plan cost over 30,000 yen even without the ticket, and I didn’t personally feel it was worth that. It also reminded me how great hot spring towns are. The question of bringing food up came from a FAQ on Rakuten Travel that said guests could bring their own food and drinks. I asked the landlady directly whether that was okay at a ryokan. She seemed confused and said it was fine, like buying something from a convenience store. Later, my family heard staff talking near the front desk about a guy in his 20s asking if he could bring food and whether he was going to buy any, since meals were served. That didn’t feel good. If it wasn’t allowed, they could have just said so. I asked because the landlady was responsible for the place, not just because I’d seen it online. We ended up bringing nothing, though maybe it would’ve been more fun if we’d bought lots of food.
