Ekichika Tabi-ne

The place is less than ten minutes from the station, though a closer convenience store or supermarket would make things easier. It has everything needed for a longer stay, with spacious rooms and effective air conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook your own meals, lol. Upstairs there’s a twin bedroom and a Japanese-style room, and it seems able to sleep up to eight people. The letdown was the uncleaned air conditioner. The vents were completely covered in dust, and I had a runny nose and sore throat throughout my stay. Since this is pet-friendly accommodation, I’d like them to clean more thoroughly.

I always stay here when I visit Ishikawa with my dog. This was my first time at Ekichika. The parking lot was a little hard to get to, but there were lots of restaurants nearby and the location was very convenient.

We spent three days and two nights sightseeing, but since only a limited number of attractions allow pets, we left our dog at home on the second day. This seems to be a renovated empty house, and the toilet and bathroom were clean. There’s paid parking nearby, a hotel next door, and a restaurant across the street, so it seems like barking would be OK. The bedroom is upstairs, with air conditioning and heating on both floors. I think that’s safer than leaving a dog in the car. I blocked the stairs with a chair and left our dog in its usual bed. It slept soundly until I opened the sliding door to unlock it 😃 The nearest supermarket seems to be by the station, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We went out for drinks and food, walked home, and I fell fast asleep too.

We stayed here on a trip with our dog and were very satisfied. It was inexpensive, close to the station, and having the whole house to ourselves made it easy to relax. The building is a bit old, but the toilet, bathroom, and kitchen were new and very clean. There’s air conditioning upstairs and a heater downstairs. The place had two beds and futons in the tatami room. Pet bowls and a lint roller were in the closet on the left side of the first floor, and you can ask for pet sheets at check-in. Kanazawa Tabine no Yado has different types of accommodation, so you can choose what suits you. It’s a great setup for lots of people, not just travelers with pets. We only stayed one night this time, but next time we visit Kanazawa I’d like to stay several days! (≧∇≦)
