Toyoko Inn Kanazawa Station Higashi

A good price, breakfast included, and plenty of restaurants nearby, including Japanese, Korean BBQ, and a Japanese/American robot one. The market, castle, garden, and art museums are all walkable for a full day out, and the return bus stops right in front. The station is a short walk away. Coming out of the station, take the immediate right before the famous archway. My single room was a good size, with a double bed, desk and chair, refrigerator, and safe. It was very clean and well maintained, and didn’t feel like one of those Tokyo shoeboxes.

I’ve been a Toyoko Inn member since 2017 and really enjoyed this stay. The breakfast lived up to its reputation, especially the salted mackerel and onigiri. The hotel is an easy walk from Kanazawa station, with much of the route covered in case it rains, and buses back from the historic center stop across the street. My double room was very comfortable, with a table and chairs as well as a desk. I stayed two nights and chose no cleaning, which made the price amazing. The hotel was very clean, the staff professional and very good at English, and the TV’s English options made things easy. Kanazawa is beautiful, and I felt very comfortable here.

The shower pressure was weak in my room on the 7th floor, the only real downside. Otherwise it was quiet, even for sensitive ears, and impressively clean. In my experience Toyoko Inn is one of the few 2-3 star hotels where I consistently find no hair in the bathtub and properly working A/C. It’s an easy five-minute walk from the station, with convenience stores along the way. My room was a good size, and the breakfast buffet both mornings had bread, steamed rice, and onigiri, with different dishes and soups. Photos are after use, obviously.

It’s a very clean hotel, and the rooms are clean inside and out. It’s in a great spot, just a five-minute walk from Kanazawa Station. Check-in can be done at the automatic machine, though the front desk staff can help too. Amenities and nightclothes are available to take as needed.
