There was plenty of room for four, with a separate dining area and living room, plus a sauna and cold bath. The place felt new and comfortable, and the kitchen had a good range of utensils. A projector was provided too, though finding the speaker connection instructions beside the washing machine took some searching, almost like a puzzle. Toothbrushes cost an extra 200 yen, and the hair dryer was a SALONIA.

Mount Asama looks truly beautiful from the parking area in December. The old Nakasendo road is also there to explore, and there's a delicious soba restaurant just a short walk away that I go to often. The tall, stylish woman who handles the cleaning is very friendly and always greets people warmly. I do worry about guests ignoring the rules, though. During my stay on December 27, 2024, a dog barked continuously in room 807 until late at night, even though dogs aren't allowed in that room. Some people have dog allergies, and when rules like that are ignored, those of us who bring dogs may end up being treated as a nuisance too. That's really sad.

On workcation weekdays, I can look out at nothing but greenery from the room and get away from the city's humidity for a change of mood. I like spending weekends relaxing here too. My morning and evening routine is making fresh-ground coffee carefully and having it on the cool terrace.
