Asbo Stay Hotel

Breakfast was a delicious bento, with something different each morning. We could eat in the modern, roomy seating area, take it to our room, or bring it to the beach picnic spots. A path just across from the entrance led to a lovely beach, and the views from our room were amazing. We stayed at the Asbo Stay Hotel for three nights. The room felt luxurious and had lots of space, including a roomy en suite bathroom. I liked the little touches too, like the coffee machine, bottled water, skin creams, and serums. Even the toilet seat lifted as you walked into the toilet room. It was such good value, and I loved the stay.

We slept really well because it was so quiet, and there were plenty of towels. They left us water and coffee pods every day. The staff were helpful, and having self-service laundry onsite was great. The hotel was comfortable and very clean. You do need a car, but realistically, people staying this far from the centre are going to hire one. I loved the place and would be happy to return.

My parents, both over 60 and visiting from Hong Kong, were turned away when they came back to check in at 2:45 PM. Staff were cold toward them, and they had to wait. A little later, two groups who spoke Japanese were allowed to check in before 3:00 PM and were treated warmly. The room and facilities were fine, but the way the staff treated my parents felt rude and possibly discriminatory toward Hong Kong guests, especially older visitors. It was really disappointing and unprofessional. The hotel is also a long way from things even by car, though the price does reflect that.

The ocean and nature around ASBO are spectacular, and the rooms have everything you need. I ended up staying four lovely days after initially booking two. Lily at reception told me about the facilities and the surrounding area, which convinced me to add the extra nights. The bikes are free to borrow. If you need to communicate in English, you can ask for Lily, and she’ll point you in the right direction.
