The location is handy, across from the JR station and beside SaintCity Mall, with plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. The room size was fair for the price, and staff were reasonably nice. They seem to be updating the hotel, though much of it still feels dated. Some parts of the room, like the carpet, have been renewed, but the bathroom, light controls, and plugs are old. It still uses actual keys, which I haven't seen much in Japan lately outside onsen hotels. Cleanliness could be better, especially in the bathroom. Amenities are basic. There's a hot water pot but no cups. My room was at one end of the second floor, probably near restaurants, and from around 5-6pm until 9pm it smelled of cooking fumes. Even the air purifier indicator turned red. For the price, it's acceptable.

This was my first stay here. The location was great and the price reasonable, and the staff were really friendly. I also got a lovely handwritten note, which made the visit feel extra special.

There’s a nice range of breads and drinks available all day, 24 hours. But I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially with kids. We stopped overnight and barely slept because smoke smell came through the vents. I'm not sure whether there was a smoking room on our floor.

The location is amazing and the hotel is very good value. There's free buns, coffee, and tea available 24 hours a day. The receptionists were impressive, too. I asked a few questions about directions in Kokura, and they made maps and wrote suggestions in English for a trip to mount Sarakura. They really went out of their way to help.
