The meals were a real pleasure. I had breakfast and dinner there on several days, and the seasonal ingredients were delicious. You could see the care in the cooking and even in how each dish was presented. The staff were warm and attentive throughout, remembered our names and faces, and even kept our room keys at the desk during the day so I wouldn’t worry about losing them. I stayed at Hotel Isago for about a week. It was quiet and peaceful despite being central, near sannomiya, harborland, and mt Rokko. Family Mart was right there, and Shin-Kobe station was about a five-minute walk, with shinkansen trips to Osaka and Kyoto easy for day trips. Nunobiki Herb Garden and Ropeway were also walkable, a lovely way to start the morning. My room was tatami style with modern touches, including a new shower stall and a mini fridge with freezer. There was even a cute rubber ducky to keep. The reservable private onsen was so relaxing after a long day walking around, and they provided yukata and slippers to wear there. Hotel Isago feels like a hidden gem in Kobe. The renovations made me look forward to coming back at the end of each day. I can only dream of returning. Thank you for everything.

The private bath in the room came with a rubber ducky to take home, such a sweet touch. I also loved the evening shaved ice and the Japanese breakfast. The hotel was peaceful and quiet, with kind service and an easy walk to the station. There were lovely, safe places to walk at night too. There aren’t many English translations on the written materials, so use Google Translate. Highly recommend!

The room had everything I needed, and the hotel was clean, quiet, and well organized. I’ve seen people complain about how small the rooms are, but rooms in Japan are compact, so I don’t see that as a reason for a bad review. Pack light before coming. I reserved the night before without any trouble. I did struggle to find the place from the station, but that was my mistake: take the exit on the station’s bottom floor, not the top. The onsen has a fee. I was only there one night and didn’t get to use it, so I can’t comment on that.

I had a relaxing one-night stay at Hotel Isago while in Kobe. The rooms are lovely and feel true to Japanese style, and the service was very nice. I’d recommend their wonderful breakfast too. The harbour is also a very short drive away.
