Hotel Plaza Kobe

The view was okay, and that was the one good point. The room was filthy, dirtier than any I’ve seen in a long time. Other reviews mention dirt and bad smells, and that still hasn’t changed. Breakfast was average, while the food at the hotel event was terrible. My daughter got diarrhea after eating it, so it’s better not to eat here.

For a short stay the location worked perfectly for me, with the hotel directly connected to a mall. The desk was great for working, with lots of laptop space and easy access to power. But the bed was hard as a wooden board, and the pillow was so flat it might as well not have been there. The room had a strange smell, maybe from cleaning products or something used to cover smoke. The closet light also kept switching on around dawn, then turning off and on again with a clicking sound. For a longer stay, I’d want more comfort.

They call these old single rooms “semi-double rooms,” but they’re really just single rooms with a single-sized bed and two pillows, sold at a higher price. If you want to switch rooms, they charge a lot. I can’t understand how this hotel hasn’t been reported for what feels like scammy practices. Book somewhere else.

The best thing here is the view, if you get a room high enough. The location is good, and the hotel itself is average. Rooms are on the small side, and some areas have a strange smell. There could be more outlets for charging devices. Breakfast is free, but it’s much like other hotel buffets.
