Hotel Sunroute Sopra Kobe Annesso

The room was tiny and there was no parking. I booked non-smoking but ended up in the smoking section, and the air conditioner couldn't cool the room properly.

The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and very professional. The vending machines were a nice extra. I only stayed for two nights and had a pleasant time, though the walls between rooms were thin enough that you could hear almost everything from outside your room. Even so, I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was lovely, with simple dishes but a good variety, and I was surprised to find the toilet separate from the bathroom, which isn't common in business hotels like this. The receptionists were polite, and my room was clean and quiet. There's an underground station nearby, though you usually need a train ride to reach central Kobe. One downside is a dodgy area near the hotel, although I wouldn't say it's unsafe to walk around. I thought it was very good value.

We had a very nice stay. Our two-bed room had a huge bathroom, probably the biggest I've used in a hotel in Japan, though a single room might have a smaller one. The hotel was clean and luxurious, with a train station right next door and lots of nearby shops and restaurants to choose from. The drawbacks were that breakfast cost extra and there was no room makeup service. You had to call the front desk to have the room made up or get fresh towels.
