Community Square

The hotel is an easy walk from Kochi Castle, Hirome Market, and Harimayabashi Bridge. The building is old, but it's been looked after and was perfectly fine for my stay. The free washer and dryer are a great extra. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM, which felt a little late, but the warm, balanced Japanese set meal arrived without much waiting. It's not a buffet, and that's fine with me. The underground motorcycle parking was convenient and reassuring. I'd consider staying here again on a motorcycle trip.

I stayed in a single Western-style room. It felt small, but had the necessary amenities and was well maintained, making it good value. The hotel is especially convenient for business at Kochi prefecture's administrative facilities, as it's closest to the prefectural and city halls and has a tram stop just to the north. Perhaps because it's a little away from the downtown area, the rates are considerably below the city's hotel average.

The building has some age to it, but my room was properly cleaned, and having free access to a washer and dryer was a big help. I could also stay at a reasonable price, perhaps because this is a mutual aid association hotel, while so many places were unusually expensive thanks to inbound tourism. I was here on a motorcycle trip around Shikoku, and they let me park the bike in the basement. Kochi Castle, city hall, and the prefectural office are nearby, so after checking in at 3 PM I had time to visit the castle keep and other parts of Kochi Castle.

The Japanese-style rooms are a good pick if you want space to relax, and they have private baths. There are only three rooms, though. It's a great value, with free parking as another plus. Hirome Market is a 10-minute walk and Kochi Prefectural Government Office is just one minute away. If a bit of walking is fine with you, I'd recommend this inn.
