The food is good, and the hot spring is perfect. The township seems to be going downhill, though.
We had a relaxing stay over the New Year holidays with more than ten relatives, including small children. Having a private dining room meant we could eat together without worrying about other guests. New Year meals were available through the 3rd, but weren’t being served during our stay, so we had the Hana Kaiseki dinner instead. Everything was luxurious and delicious. The hotel is high up, with a view of the ropeway, and the scenery is spectacular. Cars passing by can be a little nerve-racking. If it snows, they’ll pick you up at Agua Ignis if you contact them. Our renovated room had a clean bathroom and toilet, and the bed area had a fun retro feel. There were three of us in the bedroom, and when we came back from dinner, the sofa had been made into a bed. I think the vending machines and ice maker were near the bath. There was a liquor vending machine, a Baskin-Robbins ice cream vending machine, and an ice maker. The baths included both indoor and outdoor options, and the water was lovely and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and just the right amount, though it seems you can get seconds if you want more. Everyone at the hotel was kind, and I enjoyed a restful stay.
The quiet location made it easy to relax, and both the hot spring water and food were excellent. The service was excellent as well. I’d like to come back during the autumn foliage season next time. Thank you, and I’ll be staying here again.
We could walk to the ropeway station, and table tennis was free to use. We were upgraded to a spacious Japanese-Western style room. The hot spring was roomy, with a lovely view from the open-air bath and a waterfall bath too. We only booked breakfast, which was a Japanese set meal with a drink bar. There were lots of side dishes to eat with the rice, and we could have more rice.
