Hotel Aqua Kurobe

The receptionist was kind and helpful, and I had a very nice stay. My one disappointment was the welcome towel, which smelled of fabric softener so strongly that I couldn’t use it. I noticed the same smell near the parking lot entrance. Since the area is known for its excellent water, I hope the hotel will look into how fabric softener is being used there.

The breakfast was really satisfying, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel Aqua also has a big parking lot that seems unlikely to fill up. I found both the inside and outside well designed, and the room had an air purifier, which made it comfortable. One small drawback is that the smoking area and laundry are on the third floor, so there may be noise and frequent elevator stops for guests staying there. I wonder if some of the negative reviews are about a middle-aged man, maybe in his 40s or 50s. He did seem a little unfriendly. I’ve stayed at five hotels in Kurobe and Uozu recently, so I wanted to share my impressions.

The Wi-Fi was unbelievably slow, the slowest I’ve run into at a business hotel. I’d gladly pay 1000 yen more per night if they improved it. That’s a shame, since the hotel itself was very clean, the facilities and amenities were great, and the staff had the best manners I’ve seen. There didn’t seem to be many noisy guests, either. Just be aware there aren’t shops nearby.

When I came home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, I stayed here again. The hotel and room were very clean and well kept. The main parking lot was full when I arrived, but there was a convenient space just across the street. I’d left something behind on my previous stay, and I’m very grateful they kept it safe for me. I’ll come back again, thank you. I also stayed from Monday, August 4, 2025 to Thursday, August 7, 2025, while visiting home. I booked at short notice and arrived late, but they kindly accommodated me. The room and hotel were clean, and the free Wi-Fi was fast enough. It was handy to have a Lawson convenience store within walking distance of Kurobe Station. I like strong shower pressure, so I did wish it were a little stronger. I’d stay here again next time I return home.
