The private bath was what I was most looking forward to, and it was wonderful, with nature right in front of it. All the meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The Japanese-Western room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, too. I first stayed here as the autumn leaves were starting to change, after hearing good things about the baths and food. The owner's warm welcome at reception really touched me. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Kusatsu.

I stayed two nights and spent most of the time working in my room. It was small, but there was a desk, so it worked fine, and being able to check in as late as 10:30 PM helped a lot. I booked room only, so I can't speak to dinner or breakfast. Check-out felt a bit strict, though this is definitely a great place to stay. I usually hesitate to book guesthouses, but this one is very clean and feels like a decent facility. The rooms are clean, and the hot springs are excellent. There are three private baths to rent, which can stand up to many hotels.

The three private baths face the national forest and have slightly different temperatures, from 40 to 43 degrees. I like hotter water, so the open-air bath was my favorite. The restaurant also took care to arrange the pillars and tables so I could eat without feeling disturbed by other guests, even though I was traveling alone. That thoughtful touch impressed me. The food, room, and hot springs all made me very happy, and the host was kind. It is a steep 10-minute climb from Yubatake, so it is a bit far, but the surroundings are very quiet. I'd definitely like to return.

Breakfast was full of vegetables, with tasty homemade dressing, and the bread was delicious. The room was comfortable and had a spacious bathroom, which put us at ease. It was a no-shoes room, so our 8-month-old was happy crawling around. With the owners' thoughtfulness, we could share baby food and bathtime together. We couldn't stay in the bath for long, but since it was private and there was no time limit, we could soak as much as we wanted. It was our first time staying at this inn with our baby, so we weren't sure how relaxed we'd be, but we had a very comfortable stay. Yubatake is about a 20-minute walk away. It's a lovely place to unwind.
