Hotel Grand Bach Kyoto Select

We had a spacious king room by Japanese hotel standards, and it was generally nice. The bathroom was roomy too, with plenty of counter space. The bed was firm, which I prefer. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant area, had the breakfast buffet a few mornings, and liked the free evening drink tokens. Staff were all helpful, and language wasn’t an issue. The hotel is well placed near several metro lines, department stores, alley restaurants, Nishiki market, and Gion. We’d definitely stay again if we returned to Kyoto.

The hotel was central and easy to reach, and the music theme was thoughtfully done, giving the place a nice, sophisticated feel. We stayed two nights and would definitely come back. Our room was nice, with a roomy, comfortable bed, a little couch, and a fridge. There was space under the bed for suitcases, and the shower was spacious with lots of functions. Room sizes vary depending on your budget. They also offer welcome drinks, a nice bar, free luggage storage, and a really good Sento.

The room was okay for the two of us, and the location was great with plenty of food around. The bed was a bit too soft for me, though the pillow was just right. Towel changes were fine, but the robe they provided was changed every day.

Manami was excellent. She made us tourists feel noticed, and we really appreciated her help and service. The location was perfect, and the drink coins and other amenities were a nice touch. The room was snug, like many Japanese hotels in big cities, so that was expected. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
