We had five friends in the house and there was plenty of room: four bedrooms, a dining space, and the ground-floor bedroom could work as a living room too. The sleeping setup was two Western beds and Japanese mattresses on the floor, with extra mattresses if you want more padding. There’s also a washing machine, two toilets, and a great shower and bath. The old house has been renovated really well, with lovely old furniture, and it stayed comfortable even with 40 degree Celsius weather outside. Every room has air conditioning. The owner was helpful, very nice, and spoke English well. It’s a bit away from central Kyoto, but close to Kyoto's main station, and buses to the tourist area are inexpensive. There are food options nearby, including a great crêperie right across from the house. I’ve stayed in more than 100 Airbnb and rental homes around the world, and this is easily one of my top five. A fantastic spot for a few days or longer.

The roomy house made for a really comfortable visit, and the bathroom had a good-sized bathtub. We enjoyed cooking with ingredients we brought ourselves. I'd happily come back if I get the chance.

Getting around was easy, with several bus routes nearby, and the staff member handling check-in took time to answer all my questions. Thanks so much! This was my first Kyoto stay with friends. The traditional architecture and historic feel drew me in right away, and entering the house felt like stepping back into another time. If you're visiting Kyoto, staying here could leave you with a wonderful trip memory.

The place was so warm and comfortable, even though I'd been cold at another hotel before this. It was also really clean and had everything we needed, including two bathrooms, kitchen gear, dishes in different sizes, cutlery, toothbrushes, and cotton swabs. Tables on the second floor made it easy to eat there, and sitting with a beer while looking at the garden trees was lovely. The owner came out to find us when we hesitated because there’s a cafe right next door. The accommodation looked even better than the photos, and the owner speaks fluent English and kindly suggested nearby sights and good restaurants. Kyoto Station is about a 16-minute walk, and there’s a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart close by. The cafe's crepes and coffee are delicious too. I’d definitely stay again if I return to Kyoto. I love you, owner🥺💖

My family really liked staying here. It was a wonderful place, and I'll make it my first choice next time I visit Kyoto.
