Sakura Terrace

The rooms at Sakura Terrace The Gallery were clean, stylish, and comfortable, and I liked the hotel's atmosphere. A little more room or a designated spot for luggage would help, especially with larger suitcases. A few extra hooks in the bathroom for towels and clothes would be useful too. Even with those small suggestions, I had a great stay.

There are lots of minimarts close by, so picking up things you need is easy. The hotel is very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Its location right beside the train/MRT exit made getting around convenient. My room was on the small side, and there wasn't enough space to open two large suitcases at once. The bathroom was well cared for and very clean, with a heated toilet seat. I had a pleasant stay and would gladly return on my next visit.

I could hear my neighbor moving around on some nights because the walls seemed a bit thin. The rooms are small, though that seems normal for Japan. Still, I had a great stay. The room was clean and had what I needed, with tea provided, so bring your own coffee if you prefer it. After all the walking each day, the onsen was a lovely way to relax, and the welcome drink was a nice extra. The hotel is right by the train station and even closer to the subway and bus stops, with plenty of good restaurants and convenience stores nearby. I’d stay here again.

Being just outside Kujo Station made the location very convenient. I also enjoyed the massage chairs, and the complimentary alcohol was a nice extra. The staff were helpful, polite, and accommodating. They lent us an adapter for our electronics, and one receptionist spoke some Indonesian, which felt welcoming. Many staff members wore face masks. Our room was big enough, but the hallways and room smelled a little musty, perhaps because of the carpet. We could hear people walking outside, and the soundproofing wasn't great. Breakfast fell short. The pork dish was extremely salty, possibly from curing or too much seasoning, and there were no fish options. On my second day, I had severe stomach pain and diarrhea shortly after breakfast. I can't say for sure what caused it, but it significantly affected my day. The butter croissant, though, was very soft and tasty. There is a smoking area on the first floor, and sometimes cigarette smoke drifted into nearby areas. I understand the hotel needs to accommodate smokers, but better ventilation or a double-door entrance might keep the smell from spreading and make things more comfortable for other guests. The stay was acceptable, but the breakfast and occasional smoke smell would probably lead me to choose another hotel next time.
