Cocoreto The Guest House - Hostel

The guest house is neat and comfortable, and the island is a great place for natural scenery and a slower pace of life. It isn’t very big, so cycling or walking makes the most sense. Buses to Matsue or Sakaiminato are available, with stops less than a 10-minute walk from the guest house. There’s a supermarket nearby for ready-made meals or ingredients to cook. An unforgettable experience!

Don’t let the word “hostel” put you off. COCORETO feels more like a cozy, luxury boutique residence in the middle of Daikon Island, and this was probably one of my best travel experiences. The owner speaks very good English and was incredibly kind. He picked me up at Yonago Airport, drove me around all day, and took me to Yuushien Garden, lunch, and dinner. He also showed me around Sakaiminato and its port. We had an excellent lunch before I left the next day. The place is exceptionally quiet, surrounded by fields, and the living quarters are immaculate. There’s a shared toilet, but it’s exceptionally clean. The large common room would work well for small corporate or family retreats. My large mattress was very comfortable. COCORETO also sells delicious snacks and rents bicycles for exploring Daikon Island. Convenience stores are close, and restaurants not far away have delicious meals. It’s about a 15-minute drive from Yonago Airport and close to Yuushien Garden. Excellent staff and brilliant service.

I had a wonderful night at Cocoreto. The interior is gorgeous and the surroundings are pleasant. The owner was so friendly and helpful. If the sky’s clear, try stargazing. One of my best travel experiences.

The view was lovely, and this was the best guesthouse in the area. The owner took us to lots of places nearby. There’s a beautiful garden beside the guesthouse, and the terrifying bridge is only three minutes away. The hotel and place are very beautiful, and the setting is amazing. The owner is wonderful.
