Kamikouchi Onsen Hotel

The Japanese dinner and breakfast included with our stay were delicious, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and able to speak English. I really enjoyed our time at this ryokan hotel. Don’t miss the onsen. It’s 750 meters from Kappa Bashi Bridge and the other attractions, and autumn is a great time to visit.

The onsen was neat and clean, and the outdoor bath is worth trying too. We slept well on the futons, and the next morning’s Japanese buffet breakfast was a delight. Before setting off to explore Kamikochi, we picked up the lunch onigiri bento we’d ordered, a convenient and thoughtful option. Our room was clean and authentic, just what we’d hoped for from a traditional ryokan. We visited in summer and the aircon worked perfectly. The staff greeted us warmly and explained all the guidelines in English. We also had a wonderful full-course dinner, with fresh, tasty food. The chef accommodated our request for pork-free food. We arrived at Kamikochi Bus Terminal. The walk takes about 20 minutes. Use the path on the west side of the river, which is easier if you’re pulling luggage, or use the luggage delivery service near the Kamikochi post office. We stayed one night and would definitely return if we visit Kamikochi again. Thank you, Kamikochi Onsen Hotel!

A relaxing stay with lovely service. The onsen was really clean, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I’d love to come back :)

It’s around a 15-20 minute walk from Kappabashi, and the rates are quite reasonable compared with other places inside Kamikochi. The facilities are a little old, but spotless and well maintained. The welcoming staff made the stay pleasant. The onsen was fantastic, with two natural spring sources and continuously flowing water that stays fresh.
