The owner and staff all gave us a warm welcome. The place has a great feel, with the nostalgic character of an old Showa-era ski pension. I stayed here with my French bulldog. The bath isn't a hot spring, but the water feels very soft and warming. I'd like to come back.

We had a great time at the slope right in front of the hotel, Grand View Ski Resort. Reviews called it a hidden gem, and I can see why: there were only a handful of people there. The course has several runs and was thrilling. I think there were about four. Skilled skiers were going off-course, though. There are no ropes or maintenance there, so take care with small children. It's a great spot for anyone who loves fresh powder. My family of three came with our dog. I had looked for somewhere near the interchange, right by the ski slopes, and dog-friendly. Even though it was busy, they came to get us from the parking lot in a vehicle I can't really describe, with tires that looked like a crane's. They drove through the snowy mountains, and apparently the road is part of the course. After about 10 minutes, we reached the hotel, which felt like a lodge deep in the mountains. The owner and his wife welcomed us. It had a homey, family-run atmosphere, and both the lobby and our room were clean. We enjoyed the bath, and the elaborate meals were delicious, just as the reviews said. Pets were allowed in the dining room. The only thing that bothered me was the noise and chatter in the hallways, which is why I'm giving four stars. Guests can easily do something about that, so please keep it in mind if you stay. Apart from that, I thought it was a very nice hotel.

The couple were very welcoming. I chose the place because they let my dog stay, and the room, toilet, washroom, and bath were all clean. During the hot season, the shared hallway refrigerator came in handy. There was a good range of bath shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, and other toiletries, plus plenty of hair dryers and amenities. The meals were generous and tasty.

The rooms were clean, and I found the bath really relaxing. The place has a warm, homey feel, and the owner's husband is fun to chat with while his wife's home cooking is delicious. My husband, our two dogs, and I were looked after here again, just as we were last year. There were guests without dogs both times, too. We'd be happy to come back if we get the chance. Thank you!

When we were leaving, the whole family waved us off with such enthusiasm 😉💕 The home-cooked food was delicious, especially the tempura made with local wild vegetables, which really lifted our spirits. The owners and their family made us feel welcome in a very homey setting. It was also nice to meet other people's dogs, so this is a great spot if you have a dog 😌
