The meals were a real highlight, with care coming through in every dish, and the two shared bathrooms both have hot onsen tubs for unwinding after skiing. The older building, about 30 years old, is kept in very good shape. Each bathroom, one large and one small, can be reserved for a private or family session. Getting onto the slopes is easy: rentals are just 15 steps away, Chuo Family Lift is under a minute on foot, and Sunrise Express Gondola takes about two minutes. The owner also picked us up at Ishiuchi station and drove us back on our last day. He was lovely with us as foreigners and did his best to communicate using Google Translate. Breakfast and dinner were wonderful too. The whole stay felt like a blessing, a 100/10 for us. I'd happily return if I get the chance.

The food was the part that really won me over, delicious, home-style cooking made with care. The public bathhouse stays open all day, too. I first booked because the accommodation package came with snow tickets, and the stay turned out to be a perfect experience.

Getting a ride to the station was a big plus, especially given where the hotel is. We stayed with a friend of one of the group members, so they arranged transportation for us. I'm not sure whether they can do that for everyone, but without a ride I'd rate the stay only three stars. The staff were friendly, and the home-cooked meals were filling. We had to use the stairs up to the fourth floor, which is fairly typical. I'd book this hotel again for a visit to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort, so it's four stars from me.

We were able to get into our room early, and after checking out we could still use the room and bathroom. The staff were really kind about it. The hotel is also handy for the ski lift, and every meal was tasty with generous portions. We stayed here on a family trip and would like to come back next year.
