The yakiniku was the highlight for me. It was the best I’ve ever had, and there was so much that I couldn’t finish it. The kalbi soup at the end was especially good. Rice is unlimited, though I think the meal would fill you up even without it. I booked a stay because dinner included yakiniku. The spring water was a little hotter than I prefer, but it was genuine hot spring water and warmed me through. My room’s bath was fancier than a usual home bath and even had a jacuzzi. Everyone at the inn was kind and polite. I’ve stayed in lots of places, but the yakiniku here was easily the best.

We had the bath to ourselves, even though it was after noon on a public holiday, so we could really enjoy it. The sauna is a little small but got us sweating, and then the cold bath was refreshing. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. I visited Moritake Onsen Hotel for a day trip. Entry was 500 yen, and the bathroom had rinse-in shampoo and body soap. The large public bath reopened after renovations in December 2025. The water was a little cloudy and salty, from a free-flowing sodium calcium chloride spring.

The baths are open in the morning, but the sauna doesn’t start until 11am. There’s something that looks like a jet bath, though it was empty and couldn’t be used. When I visited around 9am, I had the faintly tinted but otherwise clear, colorless salt spring all to myself. I came for a day bath. It’s called a hot spring resort, but the other hotels have closed, leaving only Yuparu at the foot of the mountain, so the area feels a bit deserted. If you go with public bath expectations, 500 yen for adults isn’t too expensive, and it’s probably fine.

Meals are yakiniku and samgyetang, with Japanese-style breakfast and bibimbap side dishes. I don’t like greasy food, so I left quite a bit, but it could suit people who enjoy yakiniku. The owner seems to be Korean, and Hangul (Korean script) is permitted. The spring was discovered during oil drilling and reminded me of seawater, maybe fossil seawater. It had about 30g of salt per liter, nearly seawater strength. It was a little cloudy and had no smell. Fossil seawater often smells of petroleum or tar, but I didn’t notice that here. The water comes in intermittently rather than flowing continuously, and they add water to adjust the temperature. Bathing hours are 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM, which is a bit disappointing. Maybe the owner’s Korean background is why the hours are short. I wish bathing were allowed until midnight at least.
