Tabino Hotel lit Miyakojima

I liked having a curling iron in the room. The rooms are on the small side, but clean and pleasant, and fine for one person. There's a lovely hot bath spa on the first floor, plus plenty of izakaya, bars, and places to eat within walking distance.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the kitchen staff were kind and helpful. The room was clean and had the basics: shampoo, rinse, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste, towels, room wear, a hair dryer, electric pot, and a TV, though the TV was in Japanese. Rental bikes were reasonably priced, and smoking wasn't allowed on the premises, only outside. I didn't use the spa on the ground floor. The hotel is a minute's walk from the bus stop. It was hard to spot at first, but I found it after asking for directions. The check-in area got a bit crowded with guests coming and going. I stayed Nov 13-15, 2023, and had emailed five days beforehand with questions. Despite an automatic message promising a reply within 24 hours, nobody answered. I asked a staff member at check-in, but they never came back with an explanation.

The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, and the hotel felt very new. Beaches and lots of izakaya are within walking distance, depending on your pace. I'd book the breakfast buffet, it's worth it.

There was plenty of parking, and a snorkeling rental and tour operator was only a short walk away. The rooms were a decent size, the price was great, and the hotel was lovely.
