It's handy for JR station, Aoshima beach, and Jingu, with a 7-11 nearby too. I think it's a good fit for a one-night stay if you're a foreigner, though the front desk didn't seem to know much English. There were lots of Japanese guests, and people didn't seem keen to talk. It didn't have the guesthouse atmosphere I expected. I stayed one night in the women's dorm. Bring your own towel and toothbrush, though shampoo and body wash are provided. Each bed has a small locker outside the bedroom. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the sinks are outside. Keep your room key with you, since the women lock the door when they go out for safety. There's a shared kitchen with a fridge. If you put anything in it, write your name on your food or belongings. Some guests staying more than one night buy groceries and cook for themselves. It's a budget option for solo travelers.

We had a good experience, and ¥10500 for three people in one room felt fair, so nothing to complain about. Check-in was slow. Towels cost ¥100 to rent, and parking across the street is free until 10am the next morning, then you have to pay. :)

The onsen was really nice, and the beach is only a minute away. The hostel is also a bus stop, though buses are very infrequent. For a budget traveler it's a great place, with clean rooms and pleasant lounges. I just wish the kitchen had cups and plates.

The onsen alone makes me want to stay again. It's friendly, welcoming, and clean, with staff who are super nice and helpful. The beds and rooms are comfortable, and the kitchenette is clean too. It doesn't really have a backpacker vibe, but everyone I met in the dorms was kind and nice.

The onsen costs 700 yen now. Ask for a wristband if you want to come back multiple times that day.
