The hotel has a large restaurant and a place to relax, and the service was good overall. The rooms feel dated, with an 80s look. Most amenities need to be picked up at the front desk, though that’s not much trouble. It’s a bit out of the way in Miyoshi, but there are several convenience stores and restaurants close by.

I liked being able to choose toiletries from a range of products at the front desk. You could arrive almost empty handed and still have what you need to clean up, except toothpaste and moisturizer. There’s free tea and coffee, a microwave for guests, and fast Wi-Fi. The front desk worker was very nice, and I appreciated his hard work. There is an onsen, but unfortunately it’s only open to men. The decor in the room is a little outdated, and the location felt a bit sketchy, though it was safe. It just seemed like the middle of nowhere. If the look of the room doesn’t matter to you, the hotel has all the basics covered.

The rate was 5980 for a single room without meals, and the stay was decent. The public bath was nice, the internet worked well, and there’s a convenience store right across the street. This seems to be a fairly busy budget hotel, possibly because the Mazda factory/proving track is right next door. They keep costs down by leaving rooms almost bare, with just the basics. You pick up things like soap, lotion, pillows, and hair dryers from the front lobby. Check in, grab a basket, choose what you need, and go. It’s kind of fun.

I visited Hiroshima for sightseeing, and the low price was the reason I went as far as Miyoshi. If they want visitors to stay longer in Miyoshi, I hope they’ll fix the areas that need work and extend the hours where possible. I might come back on another Hiroshima trip if it costs less. I stayed on a weekday in early January 2026, booking through Y! Travel. It was a men-only private cabin, or capsule, with breakfast included, about 3.6 km. Miyoshi Station is around a 12-minute walk away, and there’s nothing around the hotel, so bring everything you need. The whole facility was cold, except for a few areas, perhaps because it’s old. I expected a standard capsule, but the cabin had a desk and a space about the size of one tatami mat. There was one outlet, a lockable locker with slippers inside, and an accordion curtain without a lock. The cabin itself was heated, so it wasn’t cold inside. There’s one main bath, with no sauna or cold bath, and four or five washbasins. The washbasin water heater was a little odd to use, and the water either stayed cold or was lukewarm. The floor tiles cooled quickly too. The changing room heat was off, and when I asked, the staff couldn’t help. In winter, check ahead. Staying in your bathrobe could leave you catching a cold. The welcome drinks include alcohol, and there’s a drink bar where you can make highballs and sours, which I enjoyed. The two kinds of sake were good, but I especially liked the sweet Miyoshi white wine. Sweet, cookie-like snacks were available too. For dinner, you can help yourself to packaged beef bowls and other dishes, with white rice or barley rice. The stove in the dining area wasn’t lit, so I had to ask staff to turn it on. There’s also self-serve ramen near the welcome drink corner on weekdays, but you need to register as an app member first. The ramen was disappointing: too much noodles, water in the pot that wasn’t boiling, soup that wasn’t hot enough, and some ingredients still half-thawed. It felt like a good example of the hotel’s problems. I moved it to a separate container, maybe meant for ice storage, heated it in the microwave, and managed to eat it. Breakfast is buffet style. The stove was on, but early in the morning the room was very cold, and the miso soup and hot tofu cooled down fast. The food was below average overall, though the negitoro was good. I would’ve liked shiso leaves, but it was also tasty mixed with wakame seaweed from another section. For the price, the service is a good value, I guess that makes up for the shabby facilities. If you’re paying over 5,000 yen, I’d choose somewhere else. I also noticed some problems with the elevator and hand-washing facilities. At night and early morning, it seemed only non-Japanese staff were working, so communication could be a little difficult, but only slightly. The facility was cold in most areas, possibly due to its age. In winter, wear your own clothes rather than the bathrobe provided, or you may catch a cold. I’d be curious to see what it’s like in summer.

That big bath was just right for easing the tiredness out of me, and the room was spotless and comfortable too. I stayed on October 27th. There were plenty of amenities, plus a good range of manga that could easily keep you occupied for hours. They also had weekday-only soy sauce ramen and rice bowls, a drink bar, and alcoholic drinks. With all the other services on offer, I’d be happy to come back.
