Hotel Metropolitan Morioka

Getting to the station is so easy. Our room was upgraded and felt cozy for two. You can leave your bags after checkout and keep exploring the city until your train leaves.

The location is hard to beat, right in the mall and just a short, easy walk to Morioka station. We dropped off our luggage in the afternoon, and when we came back it had already been brought up to our room. The room was clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly. Excellent service.

You’re basically right at the station, so the location is super convenient.

I had a really bad experience with the breakfast charge. The email said it was 2,000 yen per person including tax, but when I paid, it came to 2,420 yen. Nobody told us about the difference before we ate, and when I raised it, they didn’t seem willing to refund what I felt I’d been overcharged. I stayed three nights without breakfast included and asked four times when I should pay: at check-in, before eating, after eating, and again at checkout. Each time, staff told me to pay later. Even at checkout they hadn’t let me pay, so I had to ask again. It took 20 minutes for them to figure out why the meal was unpaid, and I was about to miss my Shinkansen. I also tried several times to reserve a breakfast seat in advance, but they wouldn’t take reservations. We waited about 10 minutes, and since it looked like it might take longer, I asked how much longer so we could go eat somewhere else. The staff member just formally told us to keep waiting and walked away. They really need to improve.
